MoSTEMWINs to partner with Social Solutions on a new participant tracking system

Over the last few months, we’ve been working with Social Solutions, an efforts to outcomes software provider, to develop a robust piece of software that will help us track MoWINs participants.

The software is almost ready for launch, so we’ve scheduled a series of trainings listed below. Will Stevens, MCCA’s data analyst, will be in touch with each school with more information on how to sign up for the training.
Social Solutions Training Schedule:
Monday, December 7  —  1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Wednesday, December 9  —  10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday, December 10  —  1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday, December 11  —  10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
When launched, the new software will streamline and standardize reporting, while giving us real-time data on all of our MoWINs participants. We’ve worked hard to incorporate your feedback and build the software so that it will fit into your existing processes–and the work’s not done. There’s still room to tweak and customize the software if we find areas that we want to improve.

We’re in the process of scheduling a training on the new software. We should have the dates finalized in just a few days, but to get you started, below are a few of the questions we’ve received about the project so far:

1. Will the software support batch uploads?
   Yes. You will be able to batch upload data via a standard file type, like a .csv file.
2. Can students input their own data?
   They can, but it’s up to each school to decide whether or not to enable this feature.
3. Has Social Solutions worked with other TAACCCT grantees and consortiums?
   Yes. Social Solutions has worked both with individual grantees as well as consortiums like ours. You can read about their partnership with the Rural Information Technology Alliance here.
4. Will we be able to train on the customized system?
   Yes. Starting before you go on winter break, we’ll begin training in the actual software that Social Solutions has built for the MoWINs program.
